Electrolysis and corona discharge ozone generator machine, which one is more better?

Ozone (O3) is a natural oxidant and bactericide, it is produced by ozone machines and there are two main types machine: electrolysis and corona discharge ozone generators.

Electrolytic ozone generators create O3 by low voltage electrical discharge in the WATER to split the water (H2O) into H2+O2+O3.

Corona discharge ozone generators create O3 by high voltage electrical discharge in the dry AIR or OXYGEN to split the oxygen (O2) into O2+O3.

 

The electrolysis ozone machine uses water as source, the ozone concentration is as high as 18~20wt% which the ozone solubility and diffusion rate in water is high too, and no pretreatment equipments are required.

However the corona discharge ozone machine uses dry air or oxygen as source, the ozone concentration is generally 1~3wt% (AIR source) and 2~6wt% (OXYGEN source) which the ozone solubility and diffusion rate in water is lower compared to electrolysis types, and related equipments such as oxygen cylinder or oxygen concentrator, circulation cooling tower, air dehumidifier, and oil-free air pump are required. One thing to be noted is that harmful nitrogen oxide NOx will be produced in AIR source, which is carcinogenic and should be avoided as much as possible.
